Anne Frank was a very bright young lady overflowing with joy and curiosity. Being a Jew who was born in Germany was not a good thing at the time. At first Anne wasn't really aware of what was going on therefore there wasn't too much for her to worry about. She soon became aware of her surroundings and it messed with her head and emotions. She became jaded. She also was madly in love with Peter and talked about him constantly.

Peter was a bright young man with a good heart. Being Jewish in the time of the Holocaust would mean rooming in with the Franks. In the beginning of the novel The Diary of Anne Frank, Peter is thought to be lazy and very awkward. Further in the novel when The franks and Van Daan's move into the Annex, his character forms into a sweet man who Anne finds interest in. Peter or Petel as some call him has absolutely no interest in religion. All in all he was a bold character who unfortunately lost his life to the Holocaust.
